BREAKING NEWS! Attorney General Files for a Rehearing on the Debra Milke Case

Phoenix, AZ—at the very last minutes of a deadline, Attorney General Tom Horne filed a Petition for Rehearing arguments on their recent decision to reverse the convictions and death sentence of Debra Milke.  Apparently Mr. Horne wants to see this woman put to death.
Members of the news media were told that this was going to assigned to the Solicitor General because there was a conflict of interest.  Instead the Attorney General filed it.  I’m not sure of any legal implications here.
This request asked that the appellate panel reconsider its ruling or alternatively have the matter considered by the entire 9th Circuit Court en Banc.
It’s unlikely that the Attorney general will prevail and I suspect his standing to even file this will be challenged because of the conflict of interest mentioned earlier.
Stay tuned for further developments
