I support you position that video surveillance is a privacy invasion. It is not a warrant-less search and the Constitution provides no protection from this conduct as you suggest.We can convince Congress to outlaw the practice or create a Constitutional right to privacy with a 2/3 majority.Of course the Liberal Warren Court created a right to privacy out of thin air to legalize abortion. I’m not really anti-abortion but this ruling was bad law. Remember our founding fathers never envisioned television or video some 235 years ago.
